Arvid
Petersen came into
this world in the late 70’s. He spent his
formative years in a small automobile painting
town just outside of Detroit, Michigan. Though
he began working for his family’s small yet
successful general contracting business, Arvid
knew that his true path would lead elsewhere. After
graduating from Western Michigan University with
a Bachelor of Arts degree, he gave it one last
year at his family’s business to save enough
money to follow his dreams, a metalsmithing shop
in the Colorado Mountains.
At the eleventh hour, when faced with the prospect of being
so far from the friends and family he cherished, his ambitions
changed. The night before he was to head west, Arvid rerouted
his direction to Milwaukee where his brother was attending
college, just to think things over. The city of beer and brats
won him over, and in less than a week he set up a lease on
a studio and turned to his other artistic gift, painting.
Arvid is currently in
that same studio in the Historic Hide
House of Bay View. His talent
has enabled him to enjoy life as a full
time professional artist with his work
being displayed in countless exhibits.
While gazing out of
his studio window he appreciates the
success his art has achieved, the great
friends he’s met along the way
and the fantastic view of the Klements
sausage factory his window view affords
him.
